This is all technology I find cool.
Open-source Watch
$59.00
https://watchy.sqfmi.com/
It's an E-Ink smartwatch, and VERY customizable. I would buy it and wear it, but sadly it's not waterproof.
Dumb Phone
$699
https://www.thelightphone.com/
It's a really nice and high-quality dumb phone. If I wanted a dumb phone, this is the one I would want.
Standard & Protocol
https://csa-iot.org/all-solutions/matter/
Matter is REALLY cool! It's a standard that allows all of the technology in your house (considered the IoT) to connect to anything of your choice. You can connect Matter compatible devices with Google Home, Apple Homekit, or any software of your choice.
Open-source Compatibility Layer
https://github.com/ValveSoftware/Proton
Made by Valve, Proton allows Windows games/software to work on Linux devices. I think this is also coming to ARM chips and Android, allowing Steam games to work on Android.
Open Standard
https://www.chargewithqi.com/about-qi/
Donated by Apple to the Wireless Power Consortium, Qi 2 is a form of MagSafe, bringing Android and iPhone's a little closer. It's been implimented by HMD (with their Nokia line), Google (starting with the Pixel 10 series), and most famously the people who invented it, Apple.
Smart Phone
https://www.asus.com/mobile-handhelds/phones/zenfone/zenfone-9/
The last actual small phone of it's kind. At 5.9 inches, it doesn't hurt your hand, plus it ran normal Android! Sadly, it only got about 2-years of software updates.
Sadly, ASUS's newest phones are bigger. Also, I love the color of the Zenfone.
Toothbrush
https://oralb.com/en-us/oral-b-pro-1000-rechargeable-electric-toothbrush/
I got this toothbrush, and the next time I went to the dentist they commented on how good I was brushing. It just deserves to be here, on this page.
Mo-cap System
https://electronics.sony.com/more/mocopi/all-mocopi/p/qmss1-uscxk
It could've been a very mainstream motion capture system, but got killed because nobody really needs mo-cap! Things like SlimeVR trackers are so much cheaper, and better in some ways. I put this in the cool technology section because it could've been really cool, and they look nice.
